Brexit: What You Need to Know

Following the Brexit deal agreed between EU and UK, the new importing rules have applied since 01 January 2021. Shure Cosmetics committed to assisting our customers in understanding the changes to the best of our knowledge. We are complying with all the UK & EU rules and are working hard with our domestic and international couriers to minimise disruption.

Countries Affected

Customers in the following countries should check their countries' websites for up to date regulations and register for any relevant services. Please make sure you are locally compliant and ready to receive the goods without any delays or issues.

  • All EU countries
  • Northern Ireland
  • Channel Isles
  • Isle of Man

Mandatory Registration for an EORI

An EORI (Economic Operator Registration and Identification) number is a unique code for your company and can help track & register customs information in the EU. For custom clearance purposes, you must register for an EORI number to move goods between the UK, Northern Ireland & EU countries. Please note that shipping companies may be unable to collect or deliver your goods without an EORI number. Failure to provide an EORI number when placing your order can delay the delivery of your shipment. Shure Cosmetics cannot be held responsible for the losses incurred due to the delay in providing your EORI number, or any other information requested by shipping companies. For further information, visit your national government website to register.

Customers in Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man can sign up for Trader Support Service and get further information and guidance on HMRC's website. EORI numbers can be obtained using your VAT registration, or Company Registration (limited company) or your NI number as a sole trader. Please note this is a mandatory requirement and we are unable to process your order or dispatch it without an EORI number.

Import Duty and Local VAT

Under the deal agreed between UK and EU, zero tariff rates apply to goods made in the UK and EU. We bring a large range of products to our customers that are manufactured worldwide. Therefore, Duty/Tax charges may apply upon arrival by your local authorities depending on tariff rules used by World Trade Organisation. The approximate rate of duty and taxes varies according to the country of origin. Please visit the HMRC's Tariff guide page to obtain more information. Please check with your local authorities or governing bodies about the charges before you place an order with us. You are responsible for liaising and paying your own duty and taxes.

Import duty, customs clearance charges and handling charges vary according to destination and courier. Please note that we have no control over the charges that are applied to your shipment. The VAT, duty and taxes are determined by your local custom authorities and the shipping companies will act on your behalf to comply with custom clearances.

In line with the Brexit agreement, there is no VAT charged on invoices for any EU countries. However each EU country will apply VAT at their national rate (17-27%). Our invoices are ready for export and customs procedures with the commodity codes and country of origins.

Minimum Order Value for EU Countries

A minimum order of £200.00 is required for all EU orders.

Delivery Charges and Delays

We are attempting to dispatch the EU orders as normal. However, due to EU customs issues, many consignments are delayed. The customer solely is liable to pay any additional charges, duty, taxes or any other applicable charges.

Orders Returned to Shure Cosmetics
Where EU deliveries are returned to us, the customer is reponsible for the original shipping charges. Where a refund is required we will deduct the original shipping charges and refund the balance. If another delivery attempt is required, additional shipping charges will apply.
